The construction of Santhor Mok pedestrian bridge in Khan Tuol Kork has been recently completed and it will be put into official use soon, according to the Phnom Penh Municipal Department of Public Works and Transport.
The official inauguration ceremony will be held under the presidency of H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, Mr. Sam Piseth, Director of Phnom Penh Municipal Department of Public Works and Transport, said on April 28.
The director underlined that the bridge is another new achievement of Phnom Penh capital, serving commuters, particularly children and students who walk through the Santhor Mok intersection.
Currently, Phnom Penh has five pedestrian bridges. The other four include two in front of Chumpouvoan high school in Khan Pursenchey, one at Neang Kong Hing intersection and another one at Doeum Kor market.
The Phnom Penh municipal administration has planned to build more pedestrian bridges at busy streets and intersections.
