PHORN Rim, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, on February 2, the construction of the Mekong River Bridge (Dey Edth–Thmor Kor) has reached 39.2% completion as of the end of January 2026. He further explained that the Dey Edth–Thmor Kor Bridge is located on the western bank of the Mekong River in Dey Edth Commune, Kien Svay District, and on the eastern bank in Thmor Kor Commune, Lvea Aem District, Kandal Province. The construction of this bridge is scheduled to take 48 months and is expected to be fully completed in 2028. The Mekong River Bridge (Dey Edth–Thmor Kor) is a concrete bridge with a total length of the bridge and approach roads of 3,700 meters. The main bridge structure is 1,600 meters long and 26 meters wide, comprising four traffic lanes. The approach roads extend 2,100 meters with a width of 26 meters, surfaced with asphalt concrete (AC), along with the construction of four traffic diversion roads. Once completed, the bridge will play a vital role in enhancing economic connectivity and transportation from the southern and eastern parts of Phnom Penh. It will link Xi Jinping Boulevard (the 3rd Ring Road) at National Road No. 1 and the new eastern airport area, connecting onward to the Phnom Penh–Bavet Expressway.
