A Cambodian delegation led by Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport H.E. Sun Chanthol has been in Switzerland to participate in the 81st Annual Session of UNECE Inland Transport Committee.
According to a news release of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the annual session is taking place on Feb. 19-22, 2019 in Geneva.
On Feb. 19, it pointed out, the Ministers and Heads of delegations of Contracting Parties from Africa, Asia, Europe and Middle East adopted a resolution on: “Enhancing Cooperation, Harmonisation and Integration in the Era of Transport Automation”, highlighting the relevance of the Committee in ensuring that the accelerated pace of innovation in transport automation and digitalisation will be characterised by harmonisation and interoperability, as well as safety, equitable access and intermodal integration, as essential preconditions for the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Agenda.
The UNECE Inland Transport Committee also adopted the ITC strategy 2030, Action Plan and revised ITC Terms of Reference (ToR), added the same source.
