The Banteay Meanchey Red Cross branch and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have launched a campaign to improve the road safety law in Banteay Meanchey.
Kong Bunloeut, Acting Director of Banteay Meanchey Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport, and other officials also took part in the campaign.
Colonel Kim Makara, Director of the Road Traffic Office, said that he and his subordinates, provincial public works and transport officials, the Red Cross and the JICA representatives disseminated important laws on road traffic to help drivers on the national road.
Makara said that traffic accidents in Banteay Meanchey were caused by speeding, driving under the influence, not wearing helmets and not respecting of traffic laws.
