2 men have undergone corrective re-education after being apprehended driving in reverse on the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway The Ministry of Public Works and Transport stated that on March 19 and 20, 2023, two vehicles were seen driving in reverse on the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway.The highway team, in cooperation with the road traffic police, stopped the cars and drivers to educate and fine according to legal procedures.The Ministry also reiterated its call on all citizens to respect the traffic law consistently, do not drive in reverse, use the traffic lane correctly and avoid committing crimes to participate in maintaining safety while traveling.It stated that driving in the opposite direction on the freeway or on any type of road is a serious violation of traffic laws and an insult to one’s life and the lives of others.
