The Phnom Penh Autonomous Bus Transportation Authority (City Bus) and Thailand’s Ministry of Transport have discussed smart public transport system in the city.The discussion took place in Bangkok, Thailand on June 20 between a delegation of Phnom Penh Autonomous Bus Transportation Authority led by Keut Chhe, Phnom Penh Municipal Deputy Governor, and officials of the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning, Ministry of Transport of Thailand. In the meeting held under the project to improve public bus transport services in Phnom Penh, organised by the JICA, the two sides exchanged views and experiences on smart public transport system development and measures to manage the public transport system. The Royal Government of Cambodia is now preparing a master plan for a smart transport system which is scheduled to be operational by early 2023. The master plan is aimed to promote the transport sector of Cambodia to be more efficient.
