The Ministry of Public Works has asked the International Business Chamber of Cambodia (IBC) for technological help for it to use a Telegram Bot to provide information to the public.
Ministry spokesman Heng Sothea Yut said yesterday the issue was brought up during a meeting between Public Works Minister Sun Chanthol and an IBC delegation led by its president Paul Clements.
He said Chanthol instructed relevant stakeholders to find ways to modernise communication to make it easier for people to report on and provide information on problems involving traffic, construction, maintenance, transportation infrastructure and the provision of public services through the transmission of images, videos, location, time and related information content.
The minister specifically discussed the possibility of using Telegram Bot technology to improve communication and access to information in the public and transport sectors.
“This initiative will pave the way for ensuring fast communication and automated production of work reports with Telegram Bot technology in Telegram Communications, which is widely used in Cambodia and around the world,” Sothea Yuth said.
“TheTelegram Bot is a smart and automated account that uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology to connect and communicate quickly with users, as well as collects, analyses and compiles information in Telegram communication software,” he added.
