Minister of Public Works and Transport, Sun Chanthol urged public officials to provide efficient and innovated public service with the use of technology during a ceremony for the newly appointed officials of Mondulkiri Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport, yesterday.The minister highlighted the importance of information technology to bring services closer to the people through the use of mobile vehicles and other modernized mechanisms to foster accountability, immediate responses to public concerns and improve the quality of public services. He also emphasised the important role of Mondulkiri province in contributing towards sustainable national homeland development, planning and managing policy of appropriate transport cost reduction.The Senior Minister also informed the public about progress in construction projects, maintenance of road infrastructures and the improvement on the quality of key national roads to facilitate efficient transportation of goods and products throughout the country. Mr Chanthol also lauded the management and staff of the Department of Public Works and Transportation of Mondulkiri province for their hard work that produces good results and encouraged them to continue working together to generate new ideas for the people to have better access to services. During the occasion, the Senior Minister also advised all the officials and staff to strictly adhere with preventive measures recently introduced by the Royal Government as well as the Ministry of Health to help mitigate further virus transmission during the conduct of daily public service.
