ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៥១ មានប្រវែង ៣៧,៩៥គីឡូម៉ែត្រ ចាប់ពីផ្លូវបំបែកឧដុង្គ (ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៥) ដល់ថ្នល់ទទឹង (ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៤) បានបើកការដ្ឋានសាងសង់ នៅថ្ងៃទី ១៤ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ២០១៧ និងបានសម្ពោធឱ្យប្រើប្រាស់ជាផ្លូវការ កាលពីថ្ងៃទី២៥ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ២០២០។ ខ្សែផ្លូវនេះ បាននឹងកំពុងដើរតួនាទីយ៉ាងសំខាន់ ក្នុងការលើកកម្ពស់វិស័យដឹកជញ្ជូន និងឧស្សាហកម្ម ព្រមទាំងជាតំបន់ទីប្រជុំជន អំណោយផលសម្រាប់ គម្រោងអភិវឌ្ឍន៍វិស័យអចលនទ្រព្យ ដែលបានចូលរួម បង្កើតមុខរបរ និងបង្កើនប្រាក់ចំណូល សម្រាប់ប្រជាពលរដ្ឋ ដែលរស់តាមបណ្តោយខ្សែផ្លូវនេះ។ វាក៏ជាផ្លូវខ្សែក្រវាត់ភ្នំពេញមួយ ដែលបានជួយសម្រួល ការធ្វើដំណើរ ជាពិសេសអ្នកដែលរស់នៅដូចជា ខេត្តបាត់ដំបង ពោធិ៍សាត់ កំពង់ឆ្នាំង ជាដើម ដែលមានបំណង ចង់ទៅខេត្តតំបន់មាត់សមុទ្រ មិនចាំបាច់ឆ្លងកាត់ រាជធានីភ្នំពេញទេ គឺអាចធ្វើដំណើរ កាត់តាមផ្លូវជាតិលេខ ៥១ នេះ។ ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៥១ ក៏ជាខ្សែផ្លូវយុទ្ធសាស្រ្ត តភ្ជាប់ជាមួយផ្លូវអាស៊ានហាយវ៉េ លេខ១ (AH-1) នៃរបៀងសេដ្ឋកិច្ចខាងត្បូង ឆ្ពោះទៅច្រកព្រំដែនកម្ពុជា-ថៃ (ប៉ោយប៉ែត) និងផ្លូវអាស៊ានហាយវ៉េលេខ១១ (AH-11) ឆ្ពោះទៅកំពង់ផែសមុទ្រទឹកជ្រៅ ខេត្តព្រះសីហនុ ហើយអាចតភ្ជាប់តាមរយៈផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៤១ ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៣ និងផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៣៣ ទៅកាន់ខេត្តកំពត និងខេត្តកែប ដែលជាខេត្តគោលដៅទេសចរណ៍ធម្មជាតិ និង តំបន់ឆ្នេរដ៏ស្រស់ត្រកាលរបស់កម្ពុជា ផងដែរ។ ប្រភព៖ ក្រសួងសាធារណការ និងដឹកជញ្ជូន National Road No. 51, stretching 37.95 kilometers from the Odongk junction (National Road No. 5) to the Thnol Tétèng junction (National Road No. 4), officially began construction on March 14, 2017, and was inaugurated for public use on March 25, 2020. This road has played — and continues to play — a crucial role in promoting the transportation and industrial sectors, while also becoming a productive residential and commercial zone that supports real estate development projects, job creation, and income growth for local residents living along the route. National Road No. 51 also serves as one of Phnom Penh’s ring roads, significantly facilitating travel for people from provinces such as Battambang, Pursat, and Kampong Chhnang who wish to reach Cambodia’s coastal provinces without passing through Phnom Penh, as they can instead travel via this route. In addition, National Road No. 51 is a strategic transport corridor that connects with the ASEAN Highway No. 1 (AH-1) of the Southern Economic Corridor leading to the Cambodia–Thailand border (Poipet), and with the ASEAN Highway No. 11 (AH-11) heading toward the deep-sea port in Preah Sihanouk province. It also links, through National Roads No. 41, No. 3, and No. 33, to Kampot and Kep — Cambodia’s scenic eco-tourism and coastal destinations.
