The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) and the World Bank have discussed road infrastructure development projects and wastewater treatment plants in Cambodia. The discussion was held between Acting Minister Touch Chankosal and Benedict L.J Eijbergen, a World Bank Practice Manager for Transport. The meeting touched on the installation of EV charging station equipment to promote the widespread use of EVs in Cambodia and city bus system development project in Siem Reap city. Both sides also discussed the management of wastewater treatment system in major cities and provinces, especially Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville, and the Phnom Penh Logistics Centre development project. Additionally, they shared their views on the implementation of National Road 4 construction and expansion project under a concession loan from the World Bank aiming to reduce traffic congestion and increase road safety. The World Bank has provided support and cooperation for the Royal Government of Cambodia, in particular the MPWT, for the development of transport infrastructure, clean water and wastewater treatment facility infrastructure in Cambodia to better the people’s well-being.
