PENG Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, and H.E. HENG Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, co-chaired the launch of a pilot implementation aimed at improving worker and employee transport vehicles to enhance comfort and safety, along with conducting proper technical inspections of such vehicles in Kampong Chhnang Province. This pilot program is designed to promote and encourage a transition from modified cargo trucks to properly equipped passenger vehicles with appropriate seating for transporting workers and employees. The initiative aligns with the Royal Government’s priority plan to ensure that, by 2027, vehicles used to transport workers and employees are more comfortable, safer, and better regulated. In particular, the program emphasizes facilitating and organizing mandatory technical inspections for worker transport vehicles, thereby contributing to the improvement of comfort, safety, and public order for workers and employees.
