According to H.E. Phan Rim, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Dei Edth–Thngkor Bridge project was launched together with the Phnom Penh–Bavet Expressway project on June 7, 2023. The bridge is located with its western end in Dei Edth Commune, Kien Svay District, and its eastern end in Thma Kor Commune, Lvea Em District, Kandal Province. It is a key infrastructure project for enhancing economic connectivity and transportation between the southern and eastern parts of Phnom Penh. The bridge will link Xi Jinping Boulevard (Ring Road 3) at National Road No. 1 on the western side, and connect to the Phnom Penh–Bavet Expressway on the eastern side.
