Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), on Feb. 13, led a delegation of the Ministry to attend the Inter-Ministerial Meeting on Infrastructure Management in Phnom Penh under the chairmanship of Say Sam Al, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC).The meeting was held at the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction with the participation of leaders of the two ministries and other relevant officials. The meeting proceeded smoothly according to the planned agenda, with the presentation of some study projects on infrastructure management in Phnom Penh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction stated that the study on infrastructure management in Phnom Penh was conducted in order to improve the image of the capital to be more beautiful, improve living comfort, make it easier to make a living, and attract investment—that is, improve the quality of life and lifestyle of the people in the capital from one level to another in line with the Royal Government’s vision for Cambodia 2050, which aims to turn Cambodia into a high-income country.
He added that if all these infrastructure projects go according to plan, they are expected to make the people of Phnom Penh proud to tell the world, “We are the people of Phnom Penh, the beautiful capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia.”
At the same time, Peng Ponea, on behalf of the relevant leaders and technical officers of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, also expressed his strong will and position to join hands with the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction in both technical and the spirit to push this project to appear to make Phnom Penh an attractive capital and national pride.
