COVID-19 is still on the rampage in Cambodia despite tightening lockdown and curfew measures.
Not only has the number of cases increased exponentially today, the number of deaths today also increased to three.
The third death today and 44th in total, involves a Deputy Director of Land Transport, Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT).
The Ministry announced that Mr. Uy Sovannarith, 55, succumbed to the virus at 11:30 hours today.
He was one of the three officials from MPWT who had contracted COVID-19 on 14 April. All three of them are reported to be family members.
The deceased’s widow and son are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 currently.
