The Ministry of Public Works and Transport continues to increase the attention on national roads in the provinces in order to facilitate the travel.
From 5 July to 17 July, the Department of Public Works and Transport of Banteay Meanchey, Kep, Battambang, Preah Vihear, Tboung Khmum, Pailin, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, Ratanakiri and Stung Treng continued to carry out maintenance work on National Roads in the provinces, including: 33A, 62, 64, 68, 68, 72, 73, 8, 11, 7, 78-5, 5. 56 and 57. Aside from the work on the national roads, the departments also repaired the provincial roads.
All these activities are in order to facilitate the travel of the people and promote ease of travel, as well as boost the transport sector’s sustainability through financial and time efficiency.
Due to continuous rainfall, many of the roads have been flooded and authorities have called for caution in travelling on those roads. The authorities have also called truck drivers to make sure their loads are not above the limit in order to keep the roads from being damaged.
