Prime Minister Hun Sen has confirmed that the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge will be built connecting the Night Market (Old Market area) in Phnom Penh capital to Arey Ksat area in Kandal province’s Lovea Em district.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the National Road No. 21 in Kandal province yesterday, Hun Sen said that the bridge construction, to be divided into two parts – from Night Market to Chroy Changvar area, and from Chroy Changvar to Arey Ksat area, will be funded by the Government of the Republic of Korea.
The bridge will not only contribute to solving traffic congestion, but also to promoting tourism in the capital, the Premier underlined.
Hun Sen said that he had talked with leaders of the Republic of Korea on the bridge construction, hoping that it will proceed with the plan.
The construction of physical infrastructure – roads and bridges – under South Korea’s assistance results from the good diplomatic ties between the two countries, he stressed. Chea Vannak – AKP
