Phnom Penh, October 19, 2020 The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) held on Oct. 19 a consultation workshop on the location for ring road No. 4 construction which will further facilitate traffic and freight transportation. The closed-door consultation workshop took place with the participation of representatives of relevant ministries and institutions and representatives of 10 local and foreign companies. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has not yet announced any specific location for the construction of the ring road No. 4, but confirmed that the new road will be built after the construction of ring road No. 3 finished. The feasibility study on the ring road No. 4 construction was presented by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) from China in the workshop. H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport, has said recently that the location for the construction of the ring road No. 4 will not be released to the public to avoid rising land prices around the selected area. The under construction of the 53-kilometre-long ring road No. 3 linking NR4 to NR1 is expected to be completed in 2022. The first ring road connects Chroy Changvar Bridge to Chbar Ampov Bridge in Phnom Penh, while the 2nd links Kob Srov Road in the capital to NR2 in Kandal province.
