Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport and Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Commission on the Progress of Feasibility Study for the Tonle Bassac Navigation and Logistics Project on April 18, chaired a meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Commission with the participation of members of the inter-ministerial committee and the participation of CRBC, CCCC Water Transport Consultant, a study company and several inter-ministerial technical officers. The results of this two-year, thorough and comprehensive feasibility study show that the waterway project will not have a negative impact on the technical, environmental, ecological and the 1995 Mekong Agreement. Remarkably, the project is projected by experts to provide huge benefits for the development and growth of the national economy, especially to a high economic Internal Rate of Return (EIRR) which is more than the average rate set by national and international institutions. The meeting also actively discussed and exchanged views on all aspects of the study, including environmental technology, ecology and the 1995 Mekong Agreement, by raising questions and suggestions aimed at making the project even better. The meeting requested that the Ministry of Public Works and Transport be able to start the implementation as soon as possible. Chanthol also highly appreciated and appreciated the team that took care to study this historical project to cover and cover all important aspects and introduced the team. The work of preparing to update this study report in accordance with the request and spirit of the meeting and to prepare a report on the results of this meeting to inform Prime Minister and prepare a report of this study to the Council of Ministers for review and approval.
