The Ministry of Public Works will debut its first live show on Facebook today to allow people to air concerns over issues with the ministry’s competence.
The live show will have Sun Chanthol, Minister for Public Works, as a special guest, according to the ministry’s statement yesterday.
The viewers will be informed of infrastructure achievements from late 2018 to the present and the plans in place until 2023.
“This programme is about the sharing of information to society and will allow citizens and stakeholders to ask questions on Facebook as well as give them the opportunity to participate in the comments made by relevant professional leaders of the ministry,” Chanthol said.
He also said that he will highlight the construction of road and bridge infrastructures built in Cambodia in the live show.
Four other topics of discussion will be vehicle licence plate registration, traffic safety, public works and transportation.
The establishment of this programme has had a warm welcome from the public as they see it as another way for them to communicate with the ministry and receive information.
Facebook users noted that they wish to see the ministry regularly checking vehicle weigh stations to strengthen the transparency of transport with other Facebook users asking the ministry to accelerate the repairing of damaged roads.
Additionally, the ministry launched a Telegram group for sharing and updating information related to the ministry’s works along with the already existing popular Facebook page with 1.3 million likes.
